How much would an average Celebrity cruise cost per person?

So, for my relatives 20th anniversary we am starting to send them upon the cruise. It would be in 2012 since this year is their 18th anniversary. It would be dual people as well as we wish them to have the room with the veranda. (Deck) Also, we wish it to be the Celebrity journey to Bermuda. Well, if we can come up with even the theory during how most it would be (per person) greatfully answer. Thanks!

An “educated” guess would be about $ 125 per person per day, but that’s very much a ball-park figure, as we don’t know at this point how much cruises will be in 2012. It will also depend on which ship is doing the Bermuda route. You could see how much they are for 2010 or 2011 by either going to Celebrity’s website [where prices will probably be higher than you could find at other sites] or using one of the “usual” travel websites, e.g. Expedia, Travelocity, etc. Or, you could take a look at VacationsToGo.com, as that site is easy to use, whether or not you book with them.
First let me tell you this. You can reserve a cruise by (1) booking on line; (2) by calling the cruise line, or (3) through a travel agent. Travel agents do not charge for their services as they are paid in commission by the cruise lines. You will pay at booking the minimum deposit which will be between $ 250 and $ 350 per person for a 7 day cruise, depending upon the cruise line. The minimum will be less for a shorted cruise and more for a longer cruise, for example $ 450 per person for a 14 day cruise. The balance will be due approximately 65 to 70 days before the cruise departure date. But you can make periodic payment on line, with your travel agent, or with the cruise line. If you book within about 60 days of the cruise you will have to pay the full amount.
All cruise cabins are sold based on double occupancy (2 people going) and the prices listed will be per person and based on at least two people going on the cruise. The price you pay will depend mostly on the type cabin that you choose. There are 4 basic types of cabins on ships;
- inside (no window),…………………………..… least expensive
- outside (a window or porthole),
- balcony/veranda, and
- suites and penthouses…………………….. most expensive.
Here is a web page with Celebrity cruises sailing to Bermuda in 2011. Prices in 2012 will likely be about the same, maybe even less. As you will see the prices will vary just a little by date. And, you generally get the best price and cabin selections by booking very early as you are planning.

The price of your cruise includes your cabin, all meals (including breakfast, lunch dinner, snacks and free room service), free admissions to all shows and entertainment, and free use of all facilities on ship like the pools, hots tubs, gym, disco, etc,., except spa services. The things that you will have to pay for are gratuities (tips), alcoholic drinks and soft drinks, photos that you want, any tours from the ship you want to take, spa services like massages, and internet service. Gratuities will be about $ 10 to $ 11.50 per day per person (depending upon the cruise line) and cover the cabin steward, waiter and assistant and the Matre’d. Other tips are added to drink orders at a rate of 15%. Celebrity ships have a couple of restaurants called “specialty restaurants” where there is a service charge to eat there but its really not necessary to budget for that as the main dining room has great food.
